Madrid, Day 3: Reina Sofia

Reina Sofia is the modern art museum in Madrid. The museum mainly features Spanish art.

Outside the museum, there is a sculpture by Alberto Sánchez Pérez. In the Garden, you will find Joan Milo's sculpture. I like this one. It is very whimsical.

The most high-profile piece is probably Pablo Picasso's master piece, Guernica. Again, pictures are not allowed in the room of the Picasso exhibition. Real bummer!

Another highlight is the collection of Salvador Dali's works. Here you will find his significant pieces such as the picture above, named Face of the Great Masturbator. Yup! That's the title of the artwork.

I found this book in display. Young Dali (right) looks so different without his famous mustache and goofy facial expression in the picture.

And the pictures above tell you the typical reason why most people are just not into modern art. Yup! You are probably thinking, "I could have done that". No offense to the artists. It is not a secret most people are not feeling a dot, color block or repetition.
