London: Fish and Chips

We had to try pub food in London. JJ ordered fish and chips paired with beer and he liked it. My dish was curry chicken. The casual atmosphere and comfort food at the local pub made a pleasant lunch.

In London, there are many no-cooking restaurants, it's like their version of fast food chains. The shops look clean and inviting from outside. When you walk in, you notice there are pre-made meals such as bento boxes sitting there for you to choose, and food is often very fusion. You don't see kitchens, meaning they don't cook to order and they don't even prepare the pre-made food on premises. It makes you wonder where they shipped those bento boxes from and how long the pre-made food products have been sitting there. The upside is that you just pick up and pay, no waiting for cooking. It might be convenient for some people, they can just grab and go, literally.

I still prefer the good old traditional restaurants better. That's why we went for pub food. And I hope this 'no-cooking chain restaurants' fab will not catch on anytime soon outside London.
