Tokyo, Day 4: Harujuku (原宿)

JJ didn't really explore Tokyo nightlife as the busy schedule started to catch up with him. He was tired, therefore, he didn't go out to party with his friend last night. I was told his friend/fixer wasn't too happy about that. JJ's friend is that kind of guy who refuses to slow down. Good for him!

Day 4, JJ went to Harujuku by himself because his friend/fixer hadn't recovered from the party last night. As you know Harajuku is the place where young people gather and show off their interesting outfits. JJ was confused why he didn't see a lot of young people dressing up as characters in Harajuku. The pedestrians looked rather normal. Do kids only go there during certain days or hours? As it turns out kids wearing Cosplay costumes usually show up on Sunday. Nevertheless, JJ had a good time doing street photography in Harajuku.

Takeshita Street (竹下通), located in Harajuku, is a pedestrian only street full of shops. It used to be a place where people could purchase counterfeit products. The activity has been decreased since 2004 due to the crackdown by local authorities.
