Milan, Day 2: Shopping in Milan - Via Montenapoleone & Corso Vittorio Emanuele

Milan really lives up to the title, the Fashion Capital. In central Milan, there are so many clothing stores, more clothing stores than anything else. It just screams clothing is the priority.

Via Montenapoleone is home to high fashion. You can find those runway designers’ high end boutiques here.

Via Montenapoleone is a rather narrow street but the selections are probably more interesting than what you see in North America. If you want a Gucci bag no one else has the same style in North America, you need to make a pilgrimage to Via Montenapoleone. You won’t be disappointed.

Versace headquarter is tucked away on Gesù, half block away from Via Montenapoleone.

Corso Vittorio Emanuele is a big street. This is where you find global chain stores offering high-street fashion. It is definitely more attainable. You would think you can buy the same brands in your country. True, but not the same selections. They have many different styles you can’t find back home.

In Milan, you can find the whole spectrum of apparel products, from luxury brands to modest ones. Certainly you can find lots of global chains, their Milan stores are usually bigger and the collections are more extensive than their chain stores in other countries.

Unfortunately, our trip had come to an end. We didn’t have time to shop. What a pity. Shopping is very time consuming. Sadly, we didn’t have few hours dedicated to shopping. If I have the budget to travel overseas to buy wardrobe for the whole year, Milan would be my only choice. And that’s an understatement. Simply because they have everything here with a broad range of prices. There’s something for everybody.
